Digitization of training activities
Challenge
In large multinational organizations, the onboarding phase is critical. Among the various onboarding pre-planning activities, there are also initial training sessions usually handled by already-operational company personnel.
However, the training experience may not exactly be pleasant for both the trainee and the trainer. On one side, the trainer is forced to repeat the same content over and over again to a number of newcomers; on the other, trainees are forced to participate in classroom lectures that are often boring and unengaging. So, how do you make the onboarding training experience truly engaging and impactful?
Intervention
We analyzed with the client the way onboarding is currently managed and the way it is proposed to new arrivals: the trainer delivers the same presentation and content to different people, a repetitive activity that can be easily optimized.
Starting from this analysis, we proposed the complete digitization of the training. So, we completely redesigned the presentation used, recorded the trainer during a full training session, and created a video webinar to present to new employees.
Outcome
The result is a training experience that is new for both learners and trainers. In fact, on the one hand, learners are no longer forced to spend entire, boring days in the classroom, and on the other hand, trainers can carry on with their core activities without having to spend days repeating the same content.
